Took the boys to Grape Day Park and the Children's Museum in Escondido. My sister-in-law, Jen, joined us with her two little sweeties, Isaac (10 weeks) and Anika (3 1/2). Yes, the slide is a bunch of grapes. And Brandon is abiding in/on the "vine".

a cousin reunion

A trip to the San Diego Zoo was in order today. We met my sweet cousin, Kyler, and his girlfriend, Vanessa. It was such a neat time. They are visiting from New York/New Jersey (a Memorial weekend jaunt). There is a new "Elephant Odyssey" exhibit with a great play area for the kids. And Siley and I were interviewed by the Channel 8 news about rattlesnakes.

Field Trip

Lately, Silas tells me that everything reminds him of Jesus. Our house, a song, his shirt... Isn't it nice to be reminded of Jesus? We drove to Santee on Monday to do some shopping and to visit the Aerospace Museum hangar at Gillespie Field and the Creation Museum. The whole way, Brandon was admiring the trees and the mountains and beauty of the various terrain between Borrego and the city. It was as if he had never noticed the beauty of it before. "Mommy, where is this? It is beautiful."

My Grandpa used to volunteer at the hangar at Gillespie Field building, rebuilding and restoring old air planes. So, we went for a little visit and met my dad and Linda there. Frank Huttle greeted us in the parking lot and he knew my Grandpa and had so many sweet memories to share with me. It was so wonderful meeting him and I left the hangar so filled up and joyful and a little sad over the loss of my dear Grandpa. Here is a photo of Frank I was able to snap before we left.

As we wandered the tarmac, I came across the Waco, which was the first plane my Gramps worked on and he and Frank got to fly it many years ago.

Then we headed over a mile or two to the Creation Museum. Here are the boys on Noah's ark...sort of.

A phone call.

While watching the Perseid Meteor Shower, Daddy put away the telescope. B says: "Well, we'll have to depend on our eyes now." (8-12-10)

Was watching AFV with B. I said, "I've never seen a cat do that." B looked at me and stated very matter-of-fact: "Well, now you have." (8/22/10)

B: "Mom, Si said he was mad at you and daddy because he couldn't go miniature golfing. I told him he should be mad at satan because satan made him be bad." I'm going through Madeline for our Five-In-A-Row lesson, and I asked the boys what tower is in Paris. Si shouts, "The Tower of Terror!" I guess the ride at Disneyland made an impression. (9/27/10)

Si & I were at the Miramar Air Show when a man sitting in front of us fell unconscious. By all observations, he was dead. So, I prayed and helped how I could. After a while, we walked away and I tried to explain to Si what had happened. I asked him if he'd like to pray for the man and his wife and he did. His prayer was beautiful and perfect. After praying, he said to me, "Mommy, when I was praying I thought my eyes were going to cry." I told him that those are the best prayers. (10/1/10)

We were talking about the Lamb's Book of Life during breakfast, and Si says, "Mom, I think we should pray right now that our names are in the Book." "Okay, honey," I said, "go ahead and we will all pray." About 3 minutes later, I continued to read the Bible story and I saw Si, head bowed, hands clasped. "Siley, are you praying again?" "Yes, mommy. I really want my name in that book." (11/30/10)
